The Nkaka washing station, owned and operated by the state, processes coffee from 12 surrounding hills in the Mwambu region. For this particular lot, the coffee cherries mostly come from the Gikingo hill as well as some from the Ngoma and Mushitsi hills. The average small holder farmer has around 250 trees and yields 200-300 kilos of cherry annually.
